Lundby 1957

One of my newest purchases to the collection is a Lundby house from 1957. I think it still was for sale in 1959, because in a Lundby catalogue from 1959 a similar house is in a picture. It has original shape of the wallpapers and floors and had also got curtains when I got it from the seller. And the curtain in the bathroom is in plastic material.

Ett av de senaste köpen till samlingen är ett Lundbyhus från 1957, men jag tror att det fortfarande fanns ett liknande till salu 1959 eftersom jag sett ett i en katalog från Lundby från 1959. Huset har original tapeter och golv samt hade gardiner när det kom i min ägo. Gardinen i badrummet är i plastmaterial.

I decided to decorate it with mainly furniture from Lundby and as a guideline I used the Lundby catalogue from 1959. I am not sure if I am satisfied with the decoration yet but in the following pictures you can see how it looks like at the moment.

Jag beslöt att möblera huset med framför allt inredning från Lundby och som ett rättesnöre har jag använt en Lundbykatalog från 1959. Jag är inte helt säker på att det fått sin slutgiltiga dekorering men på de följande bilderna visas hur huset ser ut för tillfället.

 

I start the tour in the bedroom on the top floor. All furniture is from Lundby which the beds and the bedroom furniture are presented in the Lundby catalogue from 1959. I am pretty sure that the bed clothing is original (see picture below). I love the armchair from Lundby which probably is from the mid-1950s. It cost me a lot of money to buy but I don´t regret it at all. The carpet is embroidered and I don´t know how old it is, but I think it fits rather well here.

 

Vi startar rundturen i sovrummet på övre plan. Alla möbler i detta rum är från Lundby och sängmöblerna är också presenterade i Lundbykatalogen från 1959. Jag är ganska säker på att sängkläderna är original (se bild nedan). Jag bara älskar fåtöljen som är en Lundby antagligen från mitten av 50-talet. Det kostade mig en förmögenhet att införskaffa men det var det värt. Mattan är broderad och jag vet inte hur gammal den är men den passar ju ganska bra här.  

 

In the middle room upstairs I chose to decorate with a rococo sofa and chairs from Lundby which are presented in the catalogue from 1959. The buffet is also Lundby and probably a little bit older than 1959. It is missing one leg but I am going to fix a new one eventually. The lamp on the floor is probably from Germany and could be from the 1960s. I am not sure about the date. 

I mittenrummet på övre plan har jag valt att möblera med rokokomöbler från Lundby katalogen från 1959. Buffén är också Lundby men antagligen äldre än 1959. Den skarpögde ser att det saknas ett ben men det ska jag fixa så småningom. Golvlampan tror jag är tysk och kan vara från 1960-talet.

 



I think the curtain in the kitchen is rather cute. The table and chairs are Lundy’s and are part of the furniture in the catalogue from 1959. The kitchen cupboard and the stove is from Lundby and I think the sink unit is also from Lundby but probably older than 1959. The carpet is old and homemade by someone sometime. The wall clock was in the house when I got it.

Den hemmagjorda gardinen i köket tycker jag är ganska så söt. Köksbordet med tillhörande stolar är Lundbys och finns med i katalogen fån 1959. Köksskåpet och spisen är även de från Lundby och jag tror diskbänken är det också fast äldre än 1959. Mattan är gammal och hemmagjord av någon någongång.

Finally I will show you a part of the living room where the family is sitting in the sofa and an armchair. I am not sure about the date of the sofa and armchairs but I think it is from Lundby and late 1950s (perhaps early 1960s). At least I am sure that the bookshelf is from Lundby and late 1950s.

Vi avslutar rundturen i vardagsrummet där familjen sitter i soffmöblerna. Angående soffmöblerna är jag inte säker på dateringen men jag tror de är Lundbys från slutet av 1950-talet eller tidigt 1960-tal. Bokhyllan är jag däremot ganska så säker på att det är en Lundby från slutet av 1950-talet.
